Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is planning to launch Wi-Fi services for its customers, a first in country’s flying history.
PIA is planning to offer this service, at the moment, on its long distance flights to provide entertainment to the passengers. PIA which still carries one of the largest dedicated fan base in the world, is seriously haunted by local and international rivals on long distance flights and passengers have been seriously complaining about lack of entertainment in flights that lasts for hours.
PIA’s nine Boeing 777s which are to provide services on longer routes to Europe, US and Canada are planned to be equipped with these services.
It was about time that PIA made some over hauling in its services as it has lost 8% (43% to 35%) international passenger traffic to rival companies from 2008 to 2013.
